Our Staff
Step by Step Day Nursery is staffed by qualified early years practitioners, who have many years experience in childrens' care and education.
We are proud that our staff stay with us for years, as a stable and happy environment benefits both staff and your child.
All members of staff are qualified to give first aid to children, and attend regular courses in continuing professional development.
We also have a trained Chef that caters for the children.
We currently have a fully trained member of staff in Montessori learning.

Partnership with Parents
You are your child's first and most important teacher and we welcome your involvement. Your child is assigned a 'Keyperson' who is the main contact for you and your child. We encourage you to communicate with your child's Keyperson regularly; we welcome your suggestions and value your input and involvement.
We hold regular staff and parent meetings to share and discuss your child's development with you. However parents are invited to share any information or concerns with their child's Keyworker or Management at any time.
All children from the age of 9 months to 2 years have communication books, which gives parents an insight into what their child has done throughout the day. For older children aged 3 to 5 years, the staff give 'Good News' feedback to all parents. Parents can also look on the Parents Board to see what and how their child has eaten for the day.

Partnership with Outside Agencies
In addition to working with parents in partnership, we work in partnership with outside agencies. We work with a Speech and language Therapist, who has been working with us for over a year.
We also work with a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, who deals with any concerns in childrens' development.
All members of staff at Step by Step Day Nursery have participated in a sign language course.
